How alerts work
Android & desktop
Open the site in Chrome, Edge or Firefox, pick your street and allow notifications when asked.
iPhone & iPad
Apple only allows web notifications for apps added to your Home Screen (iOS 16.4+). Tap Share → Add to Home Screen, open Digital Chime from there, then turn alerts on.
Sound
Alerts use your phone's standard notification sound and vibration. They can't play the van's tune and won't ring through silent or Do Not Disturb.
Not guaranteed instant
Notifications are handed to Google, Apple or Mozilla's push services. Battery saving or poor signal can delay them.
No customer location tracking
Customers choose streets from a list without GPS. Staff can optionally enable on-device foreground location assistance, off every session; it never sends a chime automatically.
